Lewis Middle School Vision Statement
Vision: We have a vision to see a learning community where students are seen, loved, challenged, and supported so that they can realize a future of their dreams.
Mission: Our mission is to deliver on the sacred promise of public education for every one of our kids by:
- Creating and maintaining safe learning environments that emphasize belonging, student voice, self-regulation, restorative practices, clear expectations and risk taking
- Taking extraordinary efforts to know our students as unique learners and humans
- Delivering powerful daily instruction
- Communicating crystal clear success criteria for learning
- Providing multiple means and opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery
- Teaching both foundational and future-ready skills (4C’s-Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity)
- Infusing relevance into classrooms by connecting their learning to the world
- Meeting students where they are at, but pushing for, expecting to see, and celebrating their growth
- Pursuing, equipping and leveraging parents as partners in their child’s learning journey
